"We want to open an ice cream shop."

In June 2015, we met Adrienne and JP, the future owners of Wanderlust Creamery— they had amazing ice cream recipes and were working on finding a location. Here’s how we worked together to create a brand and launch a concept by August.

During our first meeting, we renamed the ice cream shop and created a brand story. Inspired by the international flavors they’d created, Wanderlust Creamery was born, intended to evoke a destination in every scoop.

The design process came next, and Well Fed created a logo that was whimsical yet strong. In addition to the brand’s logo and overall style, we created an ice cream icon that is reminicscent of a pindrop on a map. Well Fed also created content, developed the website, did product photography, and managed all of their social media accounts through their launch.

Wanderlust opened on August 28th, in an historically vacant strip mall located in the San Fernando Valley. During its first week of business, Wanderlust Creamery’s Instagram account gained more than 1,000 followers. After one month, Wanderlust had already racked up more than 100 five star reviews on Yelp. By October, Wanderlust Creamery was scooping at events and making custom ice cream flavors for Tastemade, Snapchat, and Modernica.

Well Fed also managed public relations and influencer marketing for Wanderlust Creamery. Efforts led to features in Eater LA, LA Times, LAist, Zagat, placement in TimeOut LA's 100 Best Dishes and Drinks, and a mention by the James Beard Foundation.

Due to the shop’s initial success, Wanderlust is now on track to open a second location by Summer 2016.
